LINA
Location
I live with my boyfriend Henrik from Gothenburg, our daughter Nova born in December -10 and the dogs in a residence in Åkersberga, a town outside Stockholm. I grew up here but in the past I have lived in different places around Sweden.
'A dog person'
I have always adored all kinds of animals but I was really ment to be for me the day I became a dog person!
I use to say that I 'live dog' since I spend my life with dogs not only in my spare time and in my home but in my work as a professional dog groomer as well!
I would never want a life without dogs!
I count my self as an active dog owner and I train and compete in the most of dog sports, where the top three always has been obediende, show and blood tracking.
But we also do others like agility sometimes.
I also have a past as a succesful juniorhandler where I have competed in Swedish Championships a couple of times.
Education
Right after the upper-secondary final examination I started to work with dogs. Partly as a dog groomer at different dog centers but also as a nurse at a day center for dogs.
I have educated others quite a lot in in grooming at for an exemple Hundoasen in Nynäshamn and Trimkompaniet in Morgongåva.
I am a educated and graduated dog groomer and now I am working as my own under the company name Salone Simsalabim.
I am authorized exhibition secretary.
I am authorized obedience competition assistent.
KENNEL ENGINE
In the end of year 2005 my kennel Engine were registered. The kennel was registered before I had any puppies planned because I didn't whant the name to be taken. It is something you are going to be satisfied with the rest of your life. I wanted something short and with a early letter in the alphabet (I like running first in the showring) and also something that described the energy of the Poodle!
My dogs
My first dog is my beloved Milton that has taught me everything I know about dogs and dog training! We have mostly competed in obedience throuht out the years!
When I got the urge for dog shows, my fantastic male Kevin came in to my life! He is the father of 26 puppies (13 sons; 10 apricot, 3 black and 14 daughters; 8 apricot, 6 black) from 4 different litters; two in Sweden, one in Finland and one in the Czech Republic. Two of the bitches are black (with apricot genes) and two are apricot. After these litters I decided to neuter him mostly because that I desided to have a bitch. Off course it was a hard decision but it feels as a good thing in the end.
From his latest litter, the one who was born in Czech Republic, I saved female - Keya and she has her own page here.
17th of April 2007 my sweetheart Spookie was born in Hungary! The Internet is a fantastic thing- I would never have found my little girl if it wasn't for the world wide web! She has her own page!
8th of November 2009 the A-litter was born at the kennel and I saved both a boy and 2 girls. They will be owned by me but live in other familys. Sam is at stud, see his own page! The future will deside if there will be any offsprings from the bitches I saved or not.
At the 16th of May my B-puppies was born out of Spookie! To be on the safe side I desided to keep all of the girls (3) and since one male became so nice I kept him aswell! I hope for a really bright future with these dogs!
PUPPIES
When I consider my females ready for puppies is when she has gotten merits both in show and some kind of sport, has all healt tests OK and is fully developed in body and in good general condition.
To find the "perfect" male is not easy! I have high
recuirements on both temprament, health and looks! The dream-male has some merits from obedience, agility or similar in addition to show merits.
If you are interested in a puppy from Engine- let me know!
The Poodle according to me
The poodle is for me a healty and sound dog with great adaptability, versatility and ability to learn. A dog that handles most things with a happy face and great curiousity. A open, forward and socialdog without any exaggerations.
I do personally prefere the miniature size to the three other breed sizes since it is never to big and never to small! I never feel that they are fragile like smaller dogs can be and not take to much place in the car or on the bus like larger dogs can. It's a piece of cake to bring it up an carry it if you have to cross a side walk full of broken glas.
What color I prefer I guess you have allready figured out- apricot! They are so fantasicly beautyful! In spite of this it is a quite small color if you compare it to exemple blacks. This fact makes it a bit harder to find your breeding material. But this is quite exciting too, since you really have to put your mind to it, and look all around the world to find what you look for!
In excess of this I am really interested in to find dogs that is great to work with, and this make it even more difficult! But this is really exciting too! It's really a challange!
